About Dr Imane Farhat
I am a Canadian licensed and board certified naturopathic physician. I obtained my undergraduate bachelors degree at The University of Western Ontario where I studied medical sciences. My studies focused on physiology and pharmacology, where I learned about the tremendous downfall of modern conventional medicine. I learned of the heavy side affects of pharmaceutical medications as well as the dissatisfaction many patients had from taking countless amounts of drugs to combat these side affects. During my last years of studies I decided to enter into the new emerging field of holistic and preventive primary care, called naturopathic medicine.
After obtaining my Honors BMSc degree, I enrolled with the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario. I graduated with my Naturopathic Doctorate (ND) after completing the rigorous 4 year naturopathic medical training.
We, Naturopathic Doctors, recieve the same basic medical training as conventional medical doctors. However, naturopathic doctors are trained extensively in eastern diagnostic and treatment protocals on top of their conventional medical training. With that said, we combine both eastern and western forms of medicine into each patient visit while upholding the North American national standards of medical practice. By doing so, we are able to assess, diagnose, and treat each patient as a whole, according to the patients' social, environmental, genetic, spiritual, and psychological state, using both conventional and alternative medicines.
I focus on each patient as a whole, finding the root cause of disease and it's contributing factors. To help each patient return to health and stay healthy, I emplore gentle natural therapies to address the root cause, while simultaneously providing symptomatic relief for immediate control.
As a part of my comprehensive treatment plan, I am qualified and licensed to use:
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine,
Homeopathy,
Clinical nutrition and supplementation,
Botanical (herbal) Medicine,
Physical medicine (physiotherapy, exercise therapy, soft tissue and bone manipulation, massage therapy),
Natural home remedies
I treat all kinds of conditions ranging from ear infections, joint aches/ back pains, to chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, digestive problems, insomnia, anxiety, depressed mood, and countless others.
Skin care, such as acne, poor healing and pre- and post- surgery care are also among my favorite conditions to treat and address.
If you have any concern that you are not sure about, feel free to call and ask what we can do for you.
