My Personal Journey
Making my move from Canada to Dubai
I was on a trip, vacationing in the luxurious city of Dubai a few years back shortly after graduation. I have always heard of the advancements of Dubai, a city bosting state-of-the-art hospitals, the largest fashion malls of the world, modern breathtaking architectural designs, tropical beaches and sand dunes; the city of luxury. I fell in love with the culture, the people and the local traditions. It is a city reliant on trust and loyalty. Being of Arabic background myself, I felt right at home. I embrace both sides of my nationality, my Canadian moral ethics and education, as well as my dominant restrictive Arabic upbringing. Being a Lebanese Canadian it felt natural to make Dubai and the UAE my second home. Dubai has the Islamic traditions and Arabic cultures that I missed in Canada; it also offered the liberal laws and systematic regulations that I enjoyed in Canada. And so I decided to pack up and move to the UAE.
